Aged to perfection. Worth $25+
This has to be the red wine buy of the year! It's near impossible to find a wine of this quality that's been aged for 7 years at this price. We visited the winery in Kumeu and discovered this little gem among a line-up of back vintages. This wine still has plenty of life in it but is drinking perfectly now.Only the best hand harvested fruit was selected for this wine and traditional European wine making techniques were applied allowing the fruit to drive the wine making process. Good to see the alcohol level at just 12.5%. Aged in French and American oak for 10 months, this is deep red in colour with complex, rich and ripe fruit flavours of dark cherries and blackberry and so so smooooth. A steal.
