One of the best value Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs I've tasted from the 2008 Vintage. When all of the 2009's are just being released, this is when many of the 08's are at their best. A real bargain here with lots of complexity and perfectly balanced with so much going on. Still so fresh, crisp and lively with notes of nettle, citrus and lime. Perfect on its own or with seafood. An absolute knockout with pork and also rich fish dishes such as trout. -

Great with white meats and especially good with seafood. Don't be afraid to cellar this for another 3 years from vintage. This will just get better. -

This wine comes from a small family vineyard in the Entre-Deux-Mers region of Bordeaux. A blend of 80% sauvignon blanc, 10% semillon and 10% muscadelle, it is a full bodied dry white with beautifully clean fruit flavours. Weightier than a New Zealand sauvignon - a very good match with foods such as fish and lighter white meat dishes.

Classic French Sauvignon
A very good example of France's most famous sauvignon blanc from the small district of Sancerre in the Loire valley. This has a minerally, slightly herbal medley of flavours with a juicy dry finish. Lovely drinking now and over the next couple of years and an excellent partner to shellfish.
