If you liked the Waimarie Chardonnay, this one is definitely worth trying. This Chardonnay is sourced from the Ngatarawa triangle in Hawke's Bay. It is a rich style of Chardonnay with the accent on strong fruit flavours. Ripe melon, nectarine and summer peach aromas abound with toasty oak hints of cedar and spice and a long, full, yet soft finish. You could pay well over $20 for a Chardonnay of this quality. -
Tranquillity Bay Chardonnay 2008 02/13/10 NZD $12.95

A wonderful follow up from the record breaking Sauvignon Blanc. Fermented in French and American oak barriques, this is a very well balanced wine from Nelson with a rich creamy nose and palate laden with peaches and tropical fruit flavours. Malolactic fermentation and regular lees stirring gives it an additional mealiness and toasted biscuit character. -

The fruit for this wine is sourced from Kumeu in West Auckland where, by tasting this wine you will certainly agree the quality of the wines from this part of the country have improved immensely. Very full flavours of ripe stone fruit and butterscotch with vanilla. Rich and clean and will continue to improve in the bottle for another 2-3 years.
