Artisan Late Harvest Riesling 2008 - 375ml
NZD $19.95
Astounding value here for a dessert wine of this quality. A fruit driven wine from Marlborough with hints of botrytis influence. The initial sweet entry is well balanced with crisp acidity and a refreshingly dry finish. It is just 12% alcohol and is best served lightly chilled. The wine is succulent but not cloying with excessive residual sugar. The perfect complement to cheese, pate’ and fruit platters. It's light and fresh with lots of appealing fruity characters.

Wood Park Viognier 2008
NZD $24.95
5 Star Quality
An absolutely beautiful wine made from grapes are grown on the edge of the home block of Wood Park in Victoria. Owner and winemaker John Stokes tells me he won't enter this into competitions because of the limited supply.
Twelve months in French oak and regular lees stirring enhances its subtle delicacte complexity. Pale straw with floral characters including honeysuckle and orange blossom. You could spend all day just smelling it.
On the palate there's an array of flavours - apricot, honey and orange peel with subtle oak from barrel ageing. So much going on with this wine, it is an absolute must buy. One of the best wines we've seen this year. Have it with a spinach feta cheese tart and rocket salad. Drink now or cellar for 2-4 years. -

Kuehn Gewurztraminer 2005
NZD $29.95
Classic Style from Alsace
A delicious gewurztraminer from Alsace that demonstrates the style beautifully. The Kuehn family has been producing their own wine since 1675 and this, their house style, represents very good value. Intensely spicy, with firm acidity and a dry finish, this is lovely drinking now and over the next 3-4 years.

Discovery Point Marlborough Dry Riesling 2009
NZD $19.95
Marlborough Dry Riesling That Really Is Dry
It is always a struggle to find a quality NZ riesling that is truly dry yet still displays quality fruit. This wine, from a single vineyard in Marlborough, is a superb example. It is quite rich, with lovely fruit flavours, yet is fully dry. A great food wine and with cellaring potential.
