Cattier Blanc de Noirs
Rave Reviews!
Metro 100 Wines for Summer says..."This is a big, yeasty, creamy, developed wine. A bold, fuller, nuttier style of Champagne, and dangerously drinkable."
John Hawkesby in Canvas in the NZ Herald says...
"Smart French Champagne from one of the lesser-known brands. Pinot noir 70 per cent and pinot meunier 30 per cent, this is intense, lively, complex and engaging. Flavours of red berry fruits, violets and almonds. Divine."
Joelle Thomson - Wine Writer for Herald on Sunday and The Dominion Post and Editor-DrinksBiz says...
"In my Top 10 Champagnes of 2010. I adore this wine - I tasted it and then shared it with several people who all loved its creaminess and freshness; a very sophisticated bubbly and at that price for a top tasting Champagne, it's great value too."
Paul Tudor MW - Metro Magazine says...
Thanks for the bottle, this is very much in the fuller flavoured, richer style of Champagne that my wife, in particular, loves, so you have a new fan here. What impressed me though was how elegant and fresh the wine finished, this is a lovely new batch and you should do very well with it. "Strong bead, vigorous, this is freshly disgorged and lively bubbly, light gold in colour, with heady redcurrant and cherry aromatics, in the mouth the wine is rich and bready and creamy, a lush, fuller bodied style, yet with plenty of racy acidity to counterbalance the fruit intensity. This is a big flavoured, fuller style of Champagne, yet with great poise and sophistication. Champagne lovers will be impressed."
A truly magnificent Champagne which is the 'dark horse' of the Cattier range, proving to be a real eye-opener with the Champagne connoisseur. Made from 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Pinot Meunier. The bottle appropriately conveys the richness of this straw coloured Champagne, which provides hints of raspberry and violets. This distinct, yet complex, Champagne presents a full-bodied taste and partners well with red meat, game and fish as well as foods that are spicy, savoury or sweet.
