  • Tranquillity Bay Pinot Gris 2008 NZD $12.95
The Best you'll find for the priceI've had so many customers say, "I haven't had a Pinot Gris this good for ages - and it's $12.95?" Under its normal label this sells very well at $19.95. A dry, fruit driven style, especially suitable to have with food, the wine has an aromatic nose with pear and stone fruit aromas leading to a touch of spice and a honeyed fruit-driven palate with generous mouthfeel and a soft smooth finish. This powers out of the shop by the dozen, and everyone comes back for more.
  • Tranquillity Bay Chardonnay 2008 NZD $12.95
Normally $17.95A wonderful follow up from the record breaking Sauvignon Blanc. Fermented in French and American oak barriques, this is a very well balanced wine from Nelson with a rich creamy nose and palate laden with peaches and tropical fruit flavours. Malolactic fermentation and regular lees stirring gives it an additional mealiness and toasted biscuit character.
  • Rojo Granrojo Garnacha 2008 NZD $12.95
Paul Tudor Master of Wine says in Metro Magazine. "If you enjoy fruity Otago Pinots this modern Spanish red is for you. With currant and plum and flavours of pastille and fruit jube and ripe, juicy tannins. Uncomplicated, forward, yet punchy at a sharp price."
  • Corazon Sauvignon Blanc 2008 NZD $13.95
Best of the 2008'sOne of the best value Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs I've tasted from the 2008 Vintage. When all of the 2009's are just being released, this is when many of the 08's are at their best. A real bargain here with lots of complexity and perfectly balanced with so much going on. Still so fresh, crisp and lively with notes of nettle, citrus and lime. Perfect on its own or with seafood. An absolute knockout with pork and also rich fish dishes such as trout.
  • Wilds Gully Cabernet Merlot 2005 NZD $14.95
  • Billyrock Station Limited Release Selection Shiraz 2006 NZD $15.95 $10.95
There's never been such a demand for a Shiraz like the Billyrock. Tell everyone you know it has returned. Run down the street in your pyjamas with the news if you have to, but please do not mention us if you are arrested.Wine Spectator rated this 89/100 which is almost unheard of for any wine at $10.99. The Limited Release Selection wines are only made in years where the fruit is exceptional - and this wine is. From South East Australia, this wine stuck out in a lineup of over 20 wines - most of the others were twice the price. Lots of fruit without being too heavy. A beautiful, seamless softness on the palate and a finish that lasts and lasts. You'll be back for more. I guarantee it.
  • Billyrock Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 NZD $16.95 $10.95
A great follow on from the amazingly popular Shiraz. The Cabernet is flying out just as fast. From South Eastern Australia this wine is packed full of value and flavour. Crimson red with wild berry aromas and a long, rich palate with elegant fruit flavours. Fermented in tanks for 10–12 months and matured in French and American oak, this is great with spicy meats, curries and BBQ pork. Very very good value.
  • Terriero Salento 2006 NZD $18.95 $14.95 NZD $14.20
Soft and Supple from the South This is one of those red wines that can be described simply as 'delicious'. It is made from a blend of the two Puglian red grape varieties, negroamaro and primitivo, and has a deep colour and intense yet soft array of flavours. It is quite suggestive of a merlot or shiraz but has a softness that makes it good drinking with or without food. Not designed for ageing, but will be good for a number of years.
  • Tranquillity Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2009 NZD $19.95 $10.95
Turning a $20 wine into a Quaffer! My biggest selling wine and I can hardly keep up with the demand. Everyone agrees it is truly worth $20+. If you want the bargain of the year when it comes to Sauvignon Blanc, this is it. "Way better than anything I've got from the supermarket" is a popular comment. "Why drink any other Sauv?" is another. Packed full of delicious ripe tropical fruit with a lovely crisp finish. Very easy drinking.
  • Waimarie Gisborne Chardonnay 2008 NZD $29.95 $14.95
Now Half Price - Was $30I've had people at me for literally years to get this Chardonnay back from Nick and Steve Nobilo at Waimarie. The distinctive style of their Gisborne Chardonnay has seduced even the 'Anything But Chardonnay' crowd. Remember the old style of 'creamy, buttery, lightly oaky'? This is it. Get into it! Normally $30. Tasting every Saturday until I've sold out. I give it 2 weeks - and I've got 2 years supply under normal circumstances! You'll not get a wine of this quality for the price, I guarantee it. If you grab a dozen or four and you don't agree, please let me know, as I will happily take it back - I'll want it for myself! Bob Campbell says ... "Soft, peachy wine in a typical Gisborne style but given added appeal with a seasoning of classy oak. Attractive easy-drinking Chardonnay that's ready to be enjoyed within a year or two (at $28)."
